RE: Counter balance (ears) - TOU - 06-24-2014 Very cute "Fighting goats!" Good looking boys. I will admit the LaMancha look took me a while to warm up to...at first we called them "snake heads". With 3 purebreds...we have obviously overcome the earless aversion. LOL EVERYONE ask what happened to their ears & if they froze off last winter. With 2 being this springs kids I can't believe they ask that. My main response is that we cut their ears because they are our fighting goats. Most say, "Hmmm...ok" and totally accept it. A very few say..."Really?!?" To which I respond, "Um...yeah...no." To which they then slowly smile. I like the breed so far and am committed to them. That said I am trying to create a very diverse pack herd.
Now if I could add a couple of Kiko hybrid's genetics to the mix... RE: Counter balance (ears) - Dave-Trinity-Farms - 07-13-2014 Or we can add to em [attachment=635] RE: Counter balance (ears) - Nanno - 07-13-2014 Wow Dave! Does your wife know what you're up to?? This isn't another one of Charlie Horse's creations is it? RE: Counter balance (ears) - Teckelhut - 07-13-2014 Dave, Dave Dave...what am I going to do with you? I'm showing this one to the boys. LOL! Hey that's OK Clancy keeps thinking my ears have to be nibbled on. I keep telling him I'm not that kind of gal. LOL!!!!!!!! RE: Counter balance (ears) - Dave-Trinity-Farms - 07-13-2014 She took the picture so ya I think she is ok with it And they shouldnt mind, that was years ago RE: Counter balance (ears) - deschutes dawn - 07-13-2014 And everyone thought I was weird adding pink spots to my boys for hunting season! So if this anomaly runs in your herd what kind of kids will I expect to get from whichever one of those bucklings I choose!? RE: Counter balance (ears) - Dave-Trinity-Farms - 07-14-2014 ... we do tend to make ear nibblers RE: Counter balance (ears) - deschutes dawn - 07-14-2014 That should fit right in with my hair chewers. I will probably have a shag hair style by the time the itty-bitties grow out of this phase! |
