Pack Goat wanted - Cb ice - 10-27-2015 One of our two alpine pack goats sadly died recently. We are looking for one (or two) goats to fill his big shoes. He was hard working, friendly and a pleasure to be with in the back country. Our remaining goat is a good sized alpine wether with horns. He sometimes likes to play a little rough so I think new additions to the herd should be similarly equipped. We live in Colorado and would be willing to travel a reasonable distance to pick up. Let us know if you have a good pack goat who needs a new home. Mike RE: Pack Goat wanted - nebs - 10-28-2015 I hope you find a good match for your herd. Sorry for your loss, it is amazing how much we can bond with our animals . RE: Pack Goat wanted - Cb ice - 10-28-2015 Thanks, that is so true! RE: Pack Goat wanted - Nanno - 10-28-2015 Im sorry for your loss. I'm in Colorado and I'll help keep an eye out for you. Once in awhile I do hear of something. Welcome, by the way! RE: Pack Goat wanted - Cb ice - 10-28-2015 Thanks, much appreciated RE: Pack Goat wanted - Nanno - 10-29-2015 I just did a Craigslist search and found a couple of interesting Colorado prospects: This first one has no horns, but looks like a nice big Oberhasli type and already three years old, so he should be ready to go right away. Not sure how essential the horns are to you so I figured I'd post it. http://denver.craigslist.org/grd/5277480537.html The folks who posted this next ad live near me, actually, so I could probably check them out for you if you're interested. I'm not really a Boer fanatic, but the Boer/LaMancha cross has me intrigued. http://cosprings.craigslist.org/grd/5237564706.html RE: Pack Goat wanted - Taffy - 10-29-2015 This was just posted on the FaceBook Pack and Cart Goat group: Halter Trained Young Wether $200 — Crestone, Colorado ("The Artist Formerly Known as") Prince is a wethered, halter trained French Alpine/Sable/Oberhaslii. Born March of 2015 - He is a very sweet tempered, gentle, and absolutely stunningly beautiful buckskin boy, with white socks on the front, and with horns. He has grown up with his whole family - mother, grandmother, and sister. Also housed with llamas, he loves to give and receive kisses and never ever shakes his horns at anybody. He is also very quiet. I love this guy! He walks well on a lead, and I think would make a terrific harness goat. He is intelligent, with impeccable confirmation - tight hooves (always kept trimmed), straight legs and back, and a nice wide chest. After weaning naturally from his mother (just recently) he has been raised primarily on wild forage, organic grass hay and alfalfa. I used to pack with Alpines in the Pacific Northwest... I brought my queen here to Colorado with me and founded a new herd. Mary Cassatt's grandson is now available... here is the post I have been advertizing him with: "("The Artist Formerly Known as") Prince is a wethered, halter trained French Alpine/Sable/Oberhaslii.
