How much should they weigh? - Turnercody - 02-07-2017 So I'll start with my question, is there a "standard " or known goal weight out there for a certain breed to be at at certain ages? Take an alpine wether at 6 months, where should he be? Now the right feed and ration and genetics I know play greatly here but I'm just curious ? Thanks RE: How much should they weigh? - Nanno - 02-08-2017 My boys have typically been around 90-100 lbs. at six months and 120 lbs. at one year. Mine grew a lot in the first four months and then slowed down considerably through the winter. They seemed like a good size for yearlings. At two years my boys were around 170 lbs. I'm not sure what they weigh now, but they should have one last growth spurt in the next 2-3 months as they approach three years. |
