I'd say he's an Alpine/Ober

Who knew you would get an Ober by crossing a Nubian and an Alpine?
lol
There is a chance the Nubian side was colored like an Ober and thats where the color comes in. Those ears look way to short to be a straight 50/50 cross. But with goats there is just no telling what you will get when you cross em. Nice dark color though.

I checked this wether out today. I think he's an Ober/Alpine cross. I don't see any Nubian in him. He's coming 2. He's well put together and extremely friendly. When I was there they told me a guy had called and wanted him as a pack goat. Thought I'd add a few photos of him just for grins.
I'm wondering if we should start a thread where folks can post what they are looking for and where they are located. Maybe we could help keep each other informed on where good prospects are located throughout the year. There are always some available during kidding season but not as readily available other times of the year.

Yeah, I'm too far away but its hard to find a reason he wouldn't work in the herd. I really hope he gets taken to a pack goat home.

I am curious how big he is. Too bad he doesn't have horns. I want to maintain an all horned herd. He is good looking, and I really like alpines and obers. I just have not had any luck finding large oberhaslis. I hope he finds a good home!

My best guess is he was 36". He was really well built and exceptionally friendly.
A man from Eltopia who said he is a goat packer bought him on Saturday afternoon. Are any of you in the Tri-Cities area aware of a goatpacker in Eltopia?
