2016 Beulah Parade and Yule Log Festival!
#6
The Yule Log tradition. So solemn a tradition, in memory of Mr. Hanky and his family freezing solid one night for want of a log in the fire place on the 13th-day-before-Xmas-eve. You threw candied sardines at the children in the parade? I've always wanted to do that job, or get to drive in the traditional fire truck race. Sadly I was forced to spend Yule Log alone this year, but I did drag an old half-rotten cedar fence post across the horse field, so at least I participated in spirit. Alas, having no children to kidnap, the Krampus' cloven hoofprints stopped only briefly to peek in my windows before moving on to the houses of the large Mormon family down the street. He never even touched the pre-bagged gingerbread children I left on a plate by the fireplace. Cant fool the Krampus I guess! I supose I'll eat them instead-- I always go off diet for the holidays.
