Some of them have strong family ties and some don't. Sadie is a great mom, but when she's ready to have new babies, the weaned ones get booted out the door. Snowball has the strongest bond with all her kids of all ages. Good mothering skills are super important to me and it's one of the deciding factors on whether I keep a doe or not.
Pongo is in a league of his own as far as friendliness goes. He's the most mellow, gentle guy and he's sweet to babies, which is super rare in yearlings. Especially yearling wethers! I hope he stays sweet. I sometimes wonder if being picked on by the big boys will eventually cause him to become a bully himself one day. So far he's rarely shown that tendency but I know it could happen.
