I have 2 of those exact aluminum saddles. Super light and if you get the 35 dollar pad from Northwest and upgrade some of the strapping, they're awesome. Lots of panniers too, it looks like.

Woot! I'm jealous. I'd have gone for the saddle myself but I'm low on cash due to fixing the horse trailer-- And I kinda enjoy making my own saddles. What you want to do is order the Owahee (or whatever its called) pad for it and dump the carpet padding. They're a tight fit but once you get it on you've got a GREAT pack saddle.
