It's been raining here all day. Totally unheard of! Thursday morning there is some rain forecast but letting up by afternoon. There were thunderstorms predicted originally for most of the weekend but I think that has changed. It will be about 5 degrees cooler than normal but that still has the daytime temps in the low 70's. Nights are supposed to be around 40. Of course that could change by morning! Come prepared for everything. Dave, if you are planning on fishing at East or Paulina Lakes early in the morning be prepared for it to be chilly!

Are those trout lakes? Any bass around? Like in the little river? Thanks!

Around here its usually trout in the creeks and rivers and trout, bass (and catfish, depending on where you go) in the lakes. My late husband and I used to fish allot and I have lived here all of my 52 years. So I know the fishing areas pretty well.

I will not be making the trip. I spent over 3 hours in a walk in clinic yesterday with heart problems. Two weeks ago I spent 2 days in the hospital for the same thing. They can't figure out what is wrong. In the hospital I passed the echo gram thingy and a stress test. After I am given nitro, everything is fine. The clinic wanted me go to the ER, but I refused. They gave me oxygen, then 2 nitro pills, then I was fine after a little bit. They suggested no traveling for now, and I have a follow up today with them and they are going to try to get me into a heart specialist.
I was soooooo looking forward to this trip. I haven't been on a vacation in 10 years. I am not sure if my friend that I was going to be riding with is still going. I haven't heard from her.

Dave there are bass in Crane Prairie. Some one planted them illegally a few years back and they're doing well. Downside was they eat all the trout fry. If you ever get the chance to float the John Day, it is loaded with pan size smallmouth. I could only catch the hor de oeuvre size!

Oh no! Sorry you are having health issues Debbie!! Hope you feel better soon!
Hey everyone! I'll get there tomorrow (Friday) and have to leave Sunday evening. Just me, no goats, no dog. Sleeping in the back of my truck, so I can just park wherever, not choosy. See you soon!!!

Crane Prairie may or may not be OK this time of year. If its high, it will be good fishing. If it s low, it will be weedy and only best to fish by boat. (That's B o-a-t not G-o-a-t. LOL) |
