oberhasli pack prospects for sale
#1
I am posting this for a friend, who will be joining as a member here soon.  Her name is Linda and she has a very nice oberhasli operation in Moses Lake, WA.  I love Alpines and Oberhaslis, but most of the obers I would find were too small for the size of work animals I want.  I was very excited when I met Linda, and discovered her huge bucks Tank and Earl.  I have learned that from the imported bucks from Switzerland, one of those bucks name Sento was huge.  The few large ober packers we see come from the rare Sento line.  Earl is of the Sento line and is huge, and only 2 years old and still growing.  His father Larry had huge horns and was very large as well.  I was very excited when Linda let me breed my awesome Alpine doe (from top quality from Dave, Trinity Pack Goats) to Earl.  She is due at the end of April and I can't wait to see what she throws.  Most farms hope for doelings, I hope for bucklings!  'I was also impressed with how good natured Earl is even as a breeding buck. He let me walk in his pen as a stranger and was very cool.  Linda said she is asking $125 for bottle babies and the people can get a hold of her about horns or not, or picking up after weaning.  You can pm me your info to pass on until she signs up here.  Here are a couple of pics of the new borns, with many kids still on the way.

Linda just contacted me, and she will have a website up in time for next season with set prices.  She asked if I could let everyone know for this year she needs to move some bucklings to make room and save on milk, so she is selling them for $75 each.  This won't be the price next year, and there will be some big boys in the group.  She even has some 3/4 ober 1/4 alpine and 3/4 ober 1/4 lamanchas available.  Breeding bucklings are $300.  Here are some pics she sent me.  I bought a doeling we will pick up soon so if anyone needs some brought back to Tri-Cities I can bring them with mine.  Heck at this price I might pick up an extra buckling too!

I sure love the pictures. You know, some of those mixed breed goats may work out well. My LaMancha is turning out to be huge, and what a personality. One of my alpines seems to be growing like crazy too. I'd love a goat with that color, but unfortunately I've got all the goats I need at the moment. I hope they find good packing homes. Right now I'm letting my neighbor's mare and new born baby horse use one of my fields in the afternoon. I get to be an uncle-- Play with the baby but I don't have to pay for him and I get to send him home when I want LOL.

I hear ya Charlie Horse, sometimes the mixed breeds in all kinds of animals turn out to be awesome. The best family dogs we always had ended up being the muts! I hope they find good packing homes too, or else most become tacos Smile
